John Grimshaw
Sheet metal worker
John was a 45 year old sheet metal worker who was referred to PhysioOne by his doctor after 8 weeks of low back pain. John finally sought help as he was now experiencing pins and needles in his left foot and extreme pain which prevented him from working. Worried about losing his job, needless to say John was a little apprehensive about Physiotherapy.
John was assessed by one of our PhysioOne Physio's and after a thorough assessment and explanation of the problem he was treated according to the McKenzie philosophy. This approach identifies movements which cause symptoms/pain to move towards the midline or lessen using a series of repeated movements. In John’s case his symptoms had totally resolved within two sessions using this approach.
"I was amazed with the almost instantaneous relief and clear explanation of my problem which put me at ease and allowed me to return to work within one week"
A further 3 sessions were used to teach John correct lifting technique and to show him a series of preventative stretches and strengthening exercises he could use to prevent the problem from happening again.
"I was so pleased with the service I received at PhysioOne that I asked my Physio to come along to work and show the boys how to lift correctly and manage low back pain".

Claire injured her ankle after landing from a jump rolling her ankle outwards.
"It really hurt and was really bruised and sore"
Her coach and team were really disappointed as they had the Secondary School’s Netball Championships Competition.
"We knew that the physios from PhysioOne had worked with the Silver Ferns and lots of netballers, that is why we went there".
PhysioOne treated Kate and also strapped Kate’s ankle - providing her with an ankle brace Kate was back to netball the next week allowed to play half a game and the following week back fully. Kate was so pleased to get back so quickly and knew that the bracing and strapping along with the expert guidance and treatment from PhysioOne had enabled her to get back quicker – she also said.
"Now I know how to prevent further ankle strains?"
Ryan Zoghby
East Coast Bays Football Club
"I would recommend this physio to anyone and everyone. The practice itself is very tidy, pleasant to walk into, and always makes you feel welcome with the great customer service.
The Physio’s themselves are extremely professional at what they do, along with making you feel comfortable and at ease. They deliver results.
I injured my back last year, August, just before my soccer Chatham Cup final (4 weeks prior). I had popped a disc in my lower back. I sought help immediately. It took a hard work and constant treatment from the team of Physio’s for me to be ready 4 weeks later, where I was able to play a whole game.
They were always going that little bit extra, and no matter what always made the time to see me.
I think that the most important thing was that I felt they understood what was important to me, they med my needs, not only as a customer, but as a sportsman as well".

Auckland Rugby League rep
"After a few hard seasons of competitive league and touch rugby, the injuries were starting to build up. The consecutive seasons meant that the injuries I sustained while playing league were not getting a chance to recover during the touch season. I was ready accept defeat and take a season off!
Andy and the team at PhysioOne assured me that they could get me back on the field and back in shape for the league season, and they delivered on their promise.
They did a full muscle balance assessment and identified weaknesses that never new existed, and then put me on a conditioning programme to correct these weaknesses. That combined with regular physio sessions in the clinic and recovery sessions after games has helped me back to full fitness and is keeping me going through the season."
